A couple of words about infrared energy...

Infrared energy is electromagnetic waves that travel through the space at the speed of light, without heating the air they pass through, (the amount of infrared radiation absorbed by carbon dioxide, water vapor and other particles in the air typically is negligible).

This is why electric Infrared heaters have the ability to warm people directly without the need to heat the air up in between. This makes them the most energy efficient form of heat for use as a patio heater.

An electric infrared heater of ours can provide you with a number of unique benefits.

Low cost

One of the major advantages that you will get by purchasing an infrared patio heater is a cheap initial cost. It is traditionally less expensive to install this type of heater than other heaters. With an infrared patio heater, you can simply plug it in to any electrical outlet. By comparison, many people purchase gas heaters and then have to pay the additional cost to run a gas line to the porch. This will not be necessary when you purchase an infrared style.

Low Energy Use

In addition to paying less on the front end, you will also typically pay less throughout the life of the heater. Infrared patio heaters consume less electricity than other similar types of heaters. Therefore, your utility bills will be less when running this type of patio heater.

Focused Heat

An infrared patio heater will allow you to create a focused source of heat. Other heaters attempt to disperse heat throughout the entire area. With an infrared heater, it will basically shoot a beam of heat at whatever it is pointing at. This makes it an ideal solution to heat small spaces without wasting a lot of heat throughout the area.

Improve Health

Infrared heaters also can provide you with certain health benefits as well. Infrared heat is known to go deep in to your skin. With this type of heat, you will actually improve your circulation which has a number of benefits to your health. This is very similar to the benefits that are received by being in the sunlight. However, you will not have to deal with the harmful rays from the sun on your skin.

Maintenance

In order to work, the infrared heater has a special light bulb. This type of light bulb will typically work for about 5,000 hours. This means that you will get about 3 years out of a particular infrared light bulb. At that point, you will have to purchase a new infrared bulb for replacement.
